Biggin Hill is a town in South East London, England, within the London Borough of Bromley. It is situated higher than London’s urban sprawl in the Metropolitan green belt, 15.2 miles (24.5Â km) south-southeast of Charing Cross. It is located neighboring the boundaries of Greater London, Kent and Surrey. Prior to the commencement of Greater London in 1965, it was in the historic and administrative county of Kent. At the 2011 Census, Biggin Hill had a population of 9,951.
Biggin Hill is one of the highest points of Greater London, rising to higher than 210 metres (690Â ft) above sea level. Biggin Hill Airport occupies home formerly used by RAF Biggin Hill, one of the principal fighter bases protecting London from German bombers during the Battle of Britain.
