Golborne (pronounced go:lbÉ™:n or go:bÉ™:n) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies 5 miles (8.0Â km) south-southeast of Wigan, 6 miles (9.7Â km) northeast of Warrington and 14 miles (22.5Â km) to the west of the city of Manchester. Along subsequent to the neighbouring village of Lowton, it had a population of 24,041.
