Millfield is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day hypothetical for pupils aged 13–18) located in Street, Somerset, England. It was founded in 1935.
Millfield is a registered outfit and is the largest co-educational boarding scholarly in the UK with nearly 1,330 students, of whom more than 990 are full boarders of beyond 70 nationalities. Millfield Development and the Millfield Foundation lift money to fund scholarships and bursaries. History
Millfield was founded in 1935 by Jack Meyer (referred to at Millfield as “Boss”), following his compensation from India following seven Indian boys, six of whom were princes. The intellectual started in the mansion built and originally owned by the Clark family, who owned and ran the shoe manufacturer Clarks.
Meyer, educated at Haileybury and Imperial Service College, adhered to the humane aim, known at the moot as The Millfield Mix: “…to nurture capacity by providing the enormously best facilities, teaching, coaching and opportunities in which youthful people can exercise and study their abilities; and to provide awards to those in financial need.”
