Quarry Bank is an Place and Village in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, West Midlands, England, covered by the Brierley Hill DY5 postal district. It is one of the few Villages in Dudley later a majority of Independent shops & cafes . It is home to Stevens Park( one of three ) gifted to the people of Stourbridge & Quarry Bank by Ernest Stevens .
History
Originally the Place was a rural place, a remote share of the parish of Kingswinford, included in Pensnett Chase. The antediluvian settlements in Quarry Bank were smallholdings, where industrial workers such as nailers lived. Early industrial expansion took place the yet to be 17th century more or less the Cradley Forge.
Quarry Bank acquired its own parish status in September 1844. It had an urban sanitary authority and correspondingly became an urban district of Staffordshire from 1894. However, in 1934, it amalgamated afterward the Brierley Hill urban district. This became allocation of the county borough of Dudley in 1966 and then the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in West Midlands in the past 1974.
