Salford ( SOL-fərd) is a city in Greater Manchester, England. The city is situated in a meander on the western bank of the River Irwell which forms its boundary in the same way as Manchester and its city centre. Landmarks in the city put in the 100 Greengate skyscraper, the outdated town hall, cathedral and St Philips Church. It is the main agreement of the wider City of Salford metropolitan borough.

It was the former Salfordshire’s judicial chair in historic county of Lancashire. It was contracted a spread around charter in roughly 1230 by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester.
