Fayette County ( FAY-(y)ษt) is a county located in the north central ration of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 119,194, an growth from 106,567 in 2010. Fayette County was customary in 1821. The county seat, Fayetteville, was established in 1823. Much of Fayette County is bordered upon the east side by the Flint River.
